The new building includes a central control room, modern intake area with better sight lines, and an indoor-outdoor recreation space for inmates. The old jail had no room to grow. This one was designed from the start for two future 90-bed expansions.

A 20-year lease-purchase agreement covers the debt. After the debt is paid off, 1/8 of the sales tax will drop off. The rest stays in place for operations and upkeep of the jail.
